Learn About Our Unique History
A Refined Bridge Between The Past & Present
The Indigo Inn, built in the 1850s, was first used as a warehouse for indigo, a blue dye plant that served as one of pre-Civil War era Charleston's main cash crops. Nowadays, our historic hotel offers an unparalleled location in downtown Charleston at the best value on the peninsula.
Comfortable Living Quarters That Feel Like Home
Formerly an 1843 Greek Revival Mansion, The Jasmine House boasts 11 guest rooms and 4 carriage house suites that overlook a private, outdoor garden courtyard. These living quarters are ideal for adult travelers who prefer to stay in, rather than simply tour one of Charleston’s iconic mansions in the South of Broad neighborhood.
"Great quaint inn located in the heart of Charleston. Walking distance to everything. Onsite parking. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Awesome courtyard for enjoying breakfast or some coffee. Overall a very nice experience."
Park Your Car And Walk To Everything You Want To See
"What a quaint warm place to stay. We stayed two nights and left our car in the parking lot. We were able to walk to the marketplace, restaurants, the Battery, and even to the Harbor Cruise. You felt like you were in a local home and could easily walk back for a break on a hot day. Wine and cheese at tea time and nice breakfast in the morning. We will look forward to our next trip and stay there again."
“This was our second visit to Charleston and the Indigo Inn. We found the hotel so charming the first time we had to stay again. We have a large dog and it can be hard to find nice hotels that are so accommodating but the Indigo Inn is so great. The courtyard is a lovely spot to have your wine and cheese they provide during the evening or the coffee they have in the lobby daily. The hotel is in a perfect spot to walk to shops and restaurants or even the dog park.”
